Spring 2005 has been recorded in the calendar of the Polish cosmetics industry as a time of an extraordinary event – the National Championship of Artistic Make-up for Cosmetics and Make-up Schools "CZARNA PERŁA". The event, which took place in Warsaw during the SALON WIOSNA fair, attracted young make-up artists from all over the country. The organizer of this prestigious competition was Małgorzata Wedekind – the owner of the BIKOR company, known for products such as the cult bronzer "Egyptische Erde".

Behind the scenes of the event
The competition took place in front of a large audience during the SALON WIOSNA 2005 trade fair – one of the largest events in the cosmetics industry in Poland. Participants had a set time to do their make-up live, and their work was assessed by a professional jury consisting of renowned make-up artists, cosmetologists and representatives of the world of fashion and art.
Each makeup was assessed for:
- creativity and compliance with the topic,
- precision of workmanship,
- selection of colors and techniques,
- ability to highlight the natural beauty of the model.
